What You Actually Get
An inspection is not someone glancing at your skirting boards. A proper job covers the whole property and takes between 1.5 and 3 hours. We check the interior room by room, get into the roof void and the subfloor, sound the timbers, run moisture meters and thermal imaging over the risk areas, and work the full perimeter including fences, stumps, decking and garden timbers.
If we find activity we collect soldiers so the species can be identified properly, because that decides the treatment. Coptotermes acinaciformis responds strongly to baiting, C. frenchi far less so, and Coptotermes lacteus in a bush mound will not attack a well-built house at all. You get the report and a straight recommendation either way – including when that recommendation is to do nothing but keep monitoring.

How often should I get one?
At least every 12 months, or every six months if you are on the bushland fringe, have had activity before, or have ongoing moisture problems. Annual inspection is also what keeps a treatment warranty valid.
Is the inspection destructive?
No. We use moisture meters, thermal imaging, sounding and probing rather than opening up walls. If something needs to be exposed to confirm it, we ask you first.
Do I get a report even if nothing is found?
Yes, and that is the point of paying for it. Clear written findings with photographs are what a bank, a buyer or a builder will want to see, and it is the baseline for next year’s inspection.
Can you inspect a unit or apartment?
Yes. We inspect the areas you control plus any shared subfloor or perimeter we can access. If the building has a common-property risk we will say so in the report so it can go to the body corporate.
